(Hint: First Church was here first!)

a talk and discussion led by the Rev. Dr. Mary Luti, Director of Wilson Chapel and Visiting Professor of Worship and Preaching at Andover Newton Theological School. Mary was senior minister of First Church from 2000 to 2008, the first woman in 375 years to have that position.

Becoming a 21st Century New-Old Church: The Challenge of Retraditioning, a talk and discussion led by Diana Butler Bass, nationally known author and commentator on contemporary American Christianity. Her books include A People’s History of Christianity: The Other Side of the Story and Christianity for the Rest of Us: How the Neighborhood Church is Transforming the Faith.

All events take place at First Church in Cambridge, Congregational (UCC), 11 Garden Street, Cambridge MA. We are located across from Cambridge Common, next to the Sheraton Commander Hotel, a quick walk from Harvard Square. The Tuesday evening programs include a light supper and plenty of time for questions and discussion. Childcare is planned for all events.
